72 million children of primary school age in the developing world were not in school and this is considered an optimistic number.  Nearly a billion people entered the 21st century unable to read a book or sign their name.

The investments in the Education sector has as their core mission the education and training of those with no or limited access to education; those in poverty, those in unemployment, those recovering from exposure to war and violence.
