An end of an era
31 Dec 2009, Caroline MasonAs the first decade of the 21st century ends we should stop and consider what the last has taught us and how this should shape what we do for the next. Investing for Good was born during this decade and is now maturing. It has learnt from many wonderful and some not quite so wonderful people and from its own mistakes and successes.
We have watched the ineffectiveness of the world's current leaders in tackling the issue of climate change, in containing the excesses and entitlements of a broken financial system and their failure to meet the laudable Millennium Development Goals. This, oddly, has filled us with excitement and hope of what can and must still be achieved.
Investing for Good remains dedicated to bringing financing and expertise to those aiming to transform and inspire. These are the people who will set the next decade apart from the last.
Happy New Year.
